Three ways in
Most people start with a six-week course. Some just want one Saturday with friends. Potters who already know the basics rent a shelf and come and go.

Clay needs time. We handle the slow parts: drying, loading the kiln and both firings. You come back for the fun ones.
Day 1
You center, open and pull walls on the wheel. Your teacher works next to you, not from the front of the room.
Day 7
The pot is leather-hard. You carve a foot ring and add a handle while the clay is still soft enough to join.
Day 10
We fire it to about 1,060 °C. It comes out pale, hard and ready to soak up glaze.
Day 21
You dip it in one of 14 food-safe glazes, we fire it to cone 6, and it waits on the pickup shelf with your name on it.

The studio
We work out of an old bakery on Mill Street, next to the grain mill. Big windows, concrete floors that don't mind a splash and a back room with two electric kilns that fire four nights a week.
Winter cohorts
Wheel Throwing 101 starts January 12, 2027, with Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday cohorts. Eight seats each.
